St. Benedict’s College Champs at All Island Schools Relay Championship 2017
SportDefending champions St. Benedict’s College, Colombo (83 points) won the overall boys’ titles as the All Island Schools Relay Championship 2017 sponsored by Nestle Lanka and concluded at the Doreiappa Ground, Jaffna on 10TH Sep 2017. Maristella College Negombo was the runners up with 71 points followed by Rathayake MMV Walala with 60 points.

Champion schools - U-20 boys’ - Maris Stella College - Negombo, U-18 boys’ - St. Benedict’s College - Colombo, U-16 boys’ - Dharmapala College - Pannipitiya, U-14 boys’ - St. Peter’s College - Colombo, U-12 boys’ - Trinity College - Kandy.

Bens also won the under 18 overall championship by winning the 4x100, 4x 200 , Medley relay and second place in the one lap relay . Bens won gold in the 4x 200 and Medley relay and silver in the sprint relay in the under 20 category. Bens also went on to win the gold In the Under 16 sprint relay.
The Benedictine junior team also excelled, winning the Bronze Medal in 4x 50 meters in under 12 age group.

Maris Stella Negombo (2.01.8). 3. A. Ratnayake Walala MMV (2.02.2). Boys U18 – 4x200m – 1. St. Benedict’s (1.32.4). 2. Royal Colombo (1.34.1). 3. Maris Stella Negombo (1.34.4). Boys U20 – 4x200m – 1. St. Benedict’s (1.32.3). 2. Maris Stella Negombo (1.33.1). 3. St Peter’s Colombo (1.33.9). Boys U18 – 4x400m – 1. A. Ratnayake MMV Walala (3.29.5). 2. St. Benedict’s (3.39.9). 3. St Sylvester’s (3.30.0).

The Benedictines have already won the Saints' Quadrangular Athletic Meet , Colombo zonal , Western Province and were runners up in senior John Tarbet Athletic Meet in 2017 season.
