St. Benedict’s College Welfare Society – AGM
CollegeThe Annual General Meeting of St. Benedict’s College Welfare Society will be held at the College Main Hall on Saturday 18th August 2012 at 3.30 P.M. All members are cordially invited to attend the meeting.

The Welfare Society who are in the midst of completing the mega Five Storey Class Room Building Project is seeking the support from the Benedictine fraternity and well-wishers to complete the project on schedule.

The main structure of the Rev. Bro. James Memorial Building has been completed and looking back at the actual expenses of Rs. 24.2 Million incurred up to the completion of the main structure, the project committee has been able to save approximately Rs. 13 Million from the original estimated expenditure of Rs. 37.3 Million as per the BOQ, due to the efforts made by the Welfare Society.

On completion, the building will comprise a total number of 33,241 square feet, with 16 modern class rooms, two office rooms for sectional heads, well equipped laboratory, two lecture rooms, modern tuck shop, staff lunch room, record room, car porch, roof top and an e- library.
The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 83 million and further funds are required in order to complete the building which is planned to be finished and handed over to the school by end 2012, and the Welfare Society who has undertaken this gigantic project is confident that it will be possible, no doubt, with the generosity of the ever loyal Benedictine fraternity living in Sri Lanka and domiciled abroad and well-wishers.

A further fund raising project has been launched by the Welfare Society, offering donors and well-wishers an opportunity to donate a square foot for Rs. 3000/-. There is no limit to the number of square feet you could buy.
