Obituary - Old Ben Tony Weerasinghe
ObituaryWe are sad to inform the death of Old Ben Tony Weerasinghe who passed away at the age of 76 in Pasadena, California, on Thursday, June 14, 2012. (Beloved husband of Pearl, Father of Mohan. Brother of Bernadette (Ionie) Nittiandan, Monica Weerasinghe and Leonie Kotelawala).

Viewing will be on Friday June 22, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. PB San Gabriel Mortuary, 1136 E. Las Tunas Drive, San Gabriel, Ca 91776.

Funeral Service Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10 a.m., Turner & Stevens Live Oak, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, Ca 91016.

Late Tony was born on May 12, 1936 in Colombo 15, Sri-Lanka. He was the first born to Densil and Edith Weerasinghe. He attended St. Benedict's College from the 1st grade to senior year of school, graduated from Aquinas College and was not only a scholar but also a great athlete, representing Sri-Lanka at the Asian games in the late 50's. A man of many talents, Late Tony played the saxophone, double base, and piano. He worked for Lever Brothers until he left Sri-Lanka. The Weerasinghe family migrated to the United States in 1970. He was honored to be the only Sri-Lankan official at the Olympic Games in 1984.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
