Obituary - Old Benedictine Terrence Perera (Father of loyal Old Bens Adrian and Tyrone)
ObituaryWe are sad to inform the demise of Old Benedictine Terrence Perera (Father of loyal Old Bens Adrian and Tyrone) on 27th March 2012.

Late Terrence Perera was Sri Lanka's oldest living schools Cricket Captain, captaining the College Cricket team in 1933. Apart from Cricket Old Ben Terrence represented College in Soccer, Hockey, Athletics and was an outstanding Cadet. Later he coached the College first XI Cricket Team from 1973 to 1975 and also served the Old Boys' Union and Old Benedictines' Sports Club.
He was 101+ years old, at the time of his demise.

Remains lie at No 56B, Weherakanda Road, Baddegana, Pitakotte.

The Funeral arrangements are as per the obituary notice below.

PERERA - ELANGAGE JOSEPH PERCIVAL TERENCE (Centenarian), Old Benedictine formerly of Lake House, Bloomfield C & AC, CR & FC & Ceylon Garrison Artillery, husband of late Rita (nee Seneviratne), father of Tyrone (MCA & Travel Trade Sports Club), Christine, Delrine (Netherlands), Adrian & Rosita (USA), father-in-law of Lakshmi, Andre (Netherlands), Marilyn & Dr Lalith Kumar (USA), grandfather of Nimanthi, Tilan, Machiel, Gayan, Sheranga, Reshmal & Sasha, brother of late Leslie, Mildred, Girlie, Wilton, Christie, Bertram, Irving & of Elsie & late Enid, brother-in-law of late Noel and of Doreen, late Raymond, Anton, Frances, Therese, Pearl and of Harry, expired. Cortege leaves 56B, Weherakanda Road, Baddegana, Kotte on Thursday 29th March at 3.30 p.m. Burial at Madampitiya General Cemetery, Colombo 15.

The Old Boys of St. Benedicts College will conduct a prayer service today (28th March 2012) at 7.00 P.M. at the residence of Late Mr. Terence Perera. All Old Boys are kindly requested to participate.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
