Obituary - Old Ben Neville Casie Chetty
ObituaryWe are sad to inform the demise of Old Ben Neville Casie Chetty, yesterday. (18th February)

Late Neville was an outstanding sportsman who excelled in Cricket and Football at College, was a member of the champion cricket team in 1957 and also captained the team in 1958.He also captained the champion soccer team in 1958. One of the elegant and stylish batsman the college ever produced who went on to represent the CCA at international Cricket. Till very recently, he also played soccer with the members of the ‘Old Bens veterans’.

Late Neville also was a very good musician and a member of the famous old boys choir “Choro Benedicte”.

CASIE CHETTY - NEVILLE. Loving husband of Yvonne, darling father of Clyde (Informatics) and father-in-law of Radhini, beloved grandfather of Chevaan and Rebecca, brother of late Francis and Freddie, brother of Consie, Patty and Cabraal, Eilene and Neil. Cortege leaves A.F. Raymonds Funeral Parlour at 4.00 p.m. on Monday 20th February. Burial at General Cemetery, Kanatte (General Section). No. 34C38, Rukmalgama Housing Scheme, Kottawa.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

I remember watching Casie Chetty when I was resident of Wall Street in late 1950s and it was exciting to watch Casie Chetty play. May his soul rest in peace.
